the experience that ignited the dream

Living on a horse farm while I was in college was an experience that I will always cherish. I have always loved nature, animals and (of course) dogs. But, living on a farm where I was thrown right into the barn stalls, took care of horses and watched and assisted the live birth of foals was an incredible life-changing experience. The simple and striking beauty of the property and labor of love caring for the animals were things that I never wanted to leave. After graduating college and starting my career, I am now living in the biggest city in the US. City life is very different from the lifestyle that I discovered and fell in love with on the horse farm in Upstate NY. I always find myself searching for ways to bring aspects of my horse farm experience back into my life.

So, I took a deep breath and dove right into the homesteading world.
